GTR55™ manufactured with a reinforced scrim foil is easy to apply and the perfect solution for those challenging environments where an increased strength foil faced premium tape product is required.
Complementing our market leading range of premium aluminium foil tape products, this superior reinforced cold weather aluminium foil tape, manufactured to the highest specifications benefits from a reinforced 5mm²glass scrim and kraft paper. Coated with an aggressive pressure sensitive solvent acrylic the final bond has high shear strength exhibiting superior standards of reliability, strength and durability, promoting the optimum balance of surface conformity and tensile strength making it the perfect choice for the sealing of foil faced insulation materials, rigid board and pipe section, mineral wool slab, rolls and pipe sections in the heating ventilation & air conditioning sectors.
Typical Applications
Typical applications for GTR55™ reinforced cold weather aluminium foil tape. Widely used in the HVAC industry for joinying and sealing of foil-scrim faced laminated fibreglass blankets, duct board, pipe sections and seams. Extensively used but not limited to jointing and sealing of flexible air duct seams and connections.
Also used in other industrial applications requiring a scrim reinforced cold weather aluminium foil tape with similar characteristics and benefits. Please check with a technical product expert to determine suitability for a particular purpose prior to use.

Surface Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are dry and clean, free from dirt, dust, grease, oil and silicones.
Ensure firm pressure is applied to the aluminium foil tape to provide the best adhesive bond, and that sufficient tape is applied (of at least 25mm) either side of joints to provide a long-lasting seal.
Application
Remove the release paper from the section of GTR55™ reinforced cold weather aluminium foil tape, taking care not to touch the adhesive surface.
Align the tape centrally over the join. Pull the tape taut and then press down firmly over the entire joint area.
Rub the tape to remove any wrinkles or folds.
Product Shelf Life
12 months when stored in original, unopened packaging at 21˚C (70˚F) / 50% relative humidity, and kept out of direct sunlight.
